Senior Miles Lewis headlines a group of five Hudson baseball players to earn postseason honors by being named to the 2014 All-Big Rivers Conference First Team and All-Northwest District Second Team.

Fellow seniors Hunter Frey and Jacob Giordana earned All-BRC honors for the second straight season while juniors Cody Hepfler and Alex Barnard received All-BRC honorable mention for the first time.

Hudson finished the season with a record of 12-10 and will say goodbye to seniors Lewis, Frey, Giordana and Nick Bloomberg.

“It's been an honor and privilege to coach our graduating seniors the past four years,” Raider coach Ryan Huppert said. “I wish them the very best of luck at college and everything in the future.”

It’s the third straight year Lewis has earned All-BRC honors, and the second consecutive season he was named to the All-BRC First Team. He earned second team honors as a sophomore in 2012. He was also First Team All-Northwest District and Honorable Mention All-State in 2013.

Lewis started three years at catcher for the Raiders before switching to the outfield this season. He led Hudson in hitting with an average of .333 with seven doubles, one home run and 17 RBI. He will attend NCAA Division 1 University of North Dakota on a baseball scholarship beginning this fall.

Frey earned honorable mention All-BRC this season after being named to the 2013 second team. He hit .271 with 12 RBI, second on the team, while stealing five bases. On the mound, he recorded a team-high six saves with 17 strikeouts in 20 innings pitched. He will attend Carroll College in the fall.

Giordana also received honorable mention after being named to the 2013 All-BRC Second Team. He hit .307 with three doubles, 11 RBI and a team-high 22 runs scored. He also led the team in stolen bases with 13, including a team-record five in one game. He will attend UW-La Crosse next year.

Hepfler went 4-0 on the mound this season with a 2.12 earned run average. He struck out 24 batters in 29.67 innings pitched.

Second baseman Barnard hit .276 and was second on the team in both doubles (6) and RBI (12) while stealing four bases.
