Hudson cheer and stunt teams shine

The Hudson High School varsity cheer and stunt team took first place in the coed division at the Edina Sweetheart Classic on Saturday, Jan. 13. Samantha Evens, Olivia Fremling, Maya Nordahl, and Amber Skoglund had a second place finish with their stunt group routine. The JV team also competed and had a fourth place finish. The competition consisted of high school cheer teams from the Metro and central Minnesota area.

The competition consisted of high school cheer teams from the Metro and central Minnesota area. JV team members include Patti Crawford, Sydney Diers, Gabe Dougherty, Taylor Evens, Gwen Finn, Gen Knutson, Emily Kottke, Molly Nelson, Sarah Olson, Kelayah Pitts, Samantha Pratt, Ashlyn Rykal, Mya Schultz, Emma Sundblad, and Lillian Thompson. Varsity team members include Nick Becker, Lane Burke , Lilly Burke, Samantha Evens, Olivia Fremling, Zach Girard, Izzy Hughes, Taylor Jankowski, Keoni Lapean, Carley Larson, Tori Leoni, Abigail Lingenfelter, Maya Nordahl, Amber Skoglund, Dalyon Waldner, and Anna Zaspel. Bob Burrows

Bob Burrows has been sports editor at the River Falls Journal since 1996 and at the Hudson Star-Observer since 2009. Prior to joining the Journal, Burrows served as sports editor with Ledger Publications in Balsam Lake, Wis. A native of Bayonne, N.J. and a U.S. Navy veteran, Burrows attended Marquette University before completing his studies at UW-River Falls in 1992.
