Calling all curlers

Local curling enthusiasts, or people interested in learning more about the sport, won't have to drive to St. Paul or Eau Claire anymore with the planned opening of the St. Croix Curling Center in St. Mary's Point this fall.

The St. Croix Curling Center will share space at the St. Mary's Point Ice Arena, 2489 Itasca Ave, in Lakeland, Minn. It will be open to all ages and will be the only curling facility located east of St. Paul and west of Eau Claire.

Instructional sessions for those wishing to learn the sport will be held the last two Sundays in October with the season running Sunday afternoons from November through March.
