BIG BUCK: Glenwood City man downs 17 point buck

Terry Kyle of Glenwood City, Wis. poses with his prize buck he shot during bow hunting season on Wednesday.

Terry Kyle of Glenwood City, Wis. (formerly of Deer Park) shot a huge buck with his bow on Wednesday evening at around 6:15 p.m.

The deer was a 17 pt. buck with a 21-inch spread in the inside and it weighed 217 pounds field dressed. Kyle called the monster "Horse with Horns."

The deer was shot north of Glenwood City, where Kyle lives.

Kyle said he had hoped to see this deer as he had pictures of it on his trail camera, but he said he never dreamed he would get it with a bow.

According to Kyle, he didn't see the buck right away, and when he did he wasn't able to see the rack.

"I could only see part of one side," he said. "I saw it was a large-body-sized buck, so I decided to shoot it."

It took about 20 minutes to finally find the buck and that's when he realized it was a huge one, Kyle noted.
