Raider swimmers end year at state

Six members of the Raider boys swimming and diving team wrapped up their seasons with appearances at the WIAA Division 1 State Swimming and Diving Championships Saturday, Feb. 17, at the University of Wisconsin Natatorium in Madison.

Sophomore Ethan Crim earned Hudson's only point of the meet with a 16th place score of 310.75 in the diving competition. Crim had a score of 161.55 in the preliminary round and was at 241.95 after the semifinals to earn a spot in the finals.

Freshman Stevens Asmus competed in a pair of individual events, placing 21st in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4 minutes, 57.46 seconds and 23rd in the 200 free in 1:48.57. Junior Erik Small also finished 21st in the 100 freestyle in 49.13 seconds.

Both Hudson relay teams posted 23rd place times at the meet. In the 200-medley relay, sophomore Alex Weaver, freshman Ethan Hanson, Small and Asmus combined for a time of 1:43.72, while in the 400-freestyle relay, Asmus, sophomore John Ramthun, Weaver and Small teamed up for a time of 3:21.04.

Madison West won the Division 1 team title with a total of 293 points while Hudson tied for 35th place with one point.
