This year, Minnesota started a catch-and-release record book, and its first entry for muskies came late last month, when Andrew Slette of Hawley caught and released a musky that measured 56-7/8 inches with an estimated girth of 25-1/2 inches on Pelican Lake in Otter Tail County. (Minnesota DNR)

The Hudson Soccer Association's U9 girls team went undefeated in the 2016 CC United 6-vs-6 Cup in Chaska June 24-26. Hudson's George Halunen (3) and Max Ball (2) pass River Falls' Will Bohnert as they approach the finish line of the boys' 1600 meter run at the 2016 Big Rivers Conference Track and Field Championships last Tuesday in River Falls. Halunen won the race with a time of 4 minutes, 36.37 seconds and Ball was second in 4:36.42 to help the Raider boys win their second BRC championship in the last three years.
