Hudson Public Works and Parks Director Tom Zeuli, left, visits with department employee Gail Pronschinske at the start of a buckthorn removal work project in Prospect Park last week. For his Eagle Scout project, Alexander McNamara made an Eagle’s nest lookout on the Natural Playground Trail at the Willow River State Park, which is under development and will have a number of different natural play activities for kids when finished.  Other parts of the trail will include a rope bridge, pioneer fort, gnome homes, and several climbing areas.

Nine-year-old Lillian Kirkpatrick struggles to hold steady a shotgun in the trap shooting competition at the Hudson Rod, Gun and Archery Club's annual Youth Day Saturday. Assisting Lillian is club member and volunteer Jeff Prescott. The annual event is open to youths who compete for prizes and trophies in three area – trap shooting, rifle shooting and archery.
