The Raider boys' cross country team runs close together shortly after the start of the WIAA Division 1 sectional meet at Lake Wissota Golf Course in Chippewa Falls last Saturday. The Raiders stayed close throughout the race and placed five runners in the top 16 to run away with the sectional team title and qualify for this Saturday's WIAA State Championship Meet in Wisconsin Rapids. Hudson's George Halunen (3) and Max Ball (2) pass River Falls' Will Bohnert as they approach the finish line of the boys' 1600 meter run at the 2016 Big Rivers Conference Track and Field Championships last Tuesday in River Falls. Halunen won the race with a time of 4 minutes, 36.37 seconds and Ball was second in 4:36.42 to help the Raider boys win their second BRC championship in the last three years.
