Hudson's Brady Minich uses a little body English to coax his putt closer to the hole on the third green at the River Falls Golf Club during a Big Rivers Conference match last Tuesday. Nine-year-old Lillian Kirkpatrick struggles to hold steady a shotgun in the trap shooting competition at the Hudson Rod, Gun and Archery Club's annual Youth Day Saturday. Assisting Lillian is club member and volunteer Jeff Prescott. The annual event is open to youths who compete for prizes and trophies in three area – trap shooting, rifle shooting and archery. Hudson pitcher Katie Cardell tossed a complete-game two-hitter to lead the Raider girls softball team to a 7-1 victory in the second game of a doubleheader at Chippewa Falls Thursday, snapping the Cardinals' 83-game BRC winning streak.

Hudson's George Bond (4) stays within striking distance of the leaders midway through the boys' 1600 meter run at the Hudson True Team Track and Field Invitational Friday at Newton Field. Bond finished second with a time of 4 minutes, 45.76 seconds.
