Sandra Jean Griswold (nee Kilbane) passed away the afternoon of Monday, May 12, from complications related to treatment for acute myeloid leukemia. She was born on Aug. 26, 1944, to James and Eleanor Kilbane at Bethesda Hospital in St. Paul, Minn. At her birth she had two older siblings, Denny and Pat. During her childhood she lived in St. Paul near Como Park and in Minnetonka. In 1957, at age 12 and to her delight, Sandy became an older sister to Jim III. She graduated from Hopkins High School in 1962.
Jessie Marie (Lundeen) Cramer, 91, started her journey to the Lord Monday, April 28, at the University of Minnesota Hospital after a short illness. Jessie was born Nov. 17, 1916, in Regent, N.D., to Edward and Nellie Lundeen. They moved to Hudson when Jessie was 3 and she remained in Hudson until her death. She graduated from Hudson High School in 1933 and worked at the New Brighton Arsenal and West Publishing. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and St.
Lucille Helgeson, 86, of Woodville died Thursday, May 1, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Her twin sister was the late Lois (Alvin) Iverson. Alvin still lives in Hudson. Visitation was Saturday, May 3, from 2-5 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Woodville. The funeral service was Monday, May 5, at 1:30 p.m. at Zion Lutheran with Rev. Keith Anderson officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Woodville. Keehr Funeral Home, Spring Valley, handled the arrangements.
June Ruth Catura, 83, of Hudson died Sunday, April 27, at United Hospital in St. Paul. June was born Aug. 23, 1924, in Plum City, the daughter of Pearl and Flora (Oberding) Bignell. She was raised in Plum City, where she attended grade school and high school. She furthered her education by taking night courses at Globe Business College in the Twin Cities. On Oct. 24, 1945, she was united in marriage to Bob Catura in Wallace, Idaho. June worked as a secretary most of her life. She began working for Blau Gas Company in Hudson before working several years for United Refrigeration in Hudson.
Helen Grace Thokey, 91, formerly of Racine, mother of Barbara (Richard) Hagen, passed away on Sunday, May 4, at the Christian Community Home in Hudson. A funeral service was Wednesday, May 7, at 7 p.m., with visitation one hour prior, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home in Hudson, (715) 386-3725, www.oconnellfuneralhomes.com . The graveside service was Thursday, May 8, at 2 p.m. at Graceland Cemetery in Racine.
Erwin J. Bonngard, 85, of Alamogordo, N.M., died Monday, April 28. He was born June 9, 1922, in St. Paul to Jacob Dieterick and Bertha Seiberlick Bonngard. On March 16, 1944, he was married in St. Paul to Maxine Priscilla Worrell. After retiring from the Teamsters Union in 1980, Erwin and Maxine moved to Tularosa. Maxine, his wife and best friend, died in 1994 after 50 years of marriage. He moved to Alamogordo in July of 2001. Erwin is survived by four children, James E. Bonngard and wife, Norma, of Alamogordo, Stanley M. Bonngard and wife, Julie, of Hudson, Lynette M.
Florence L. Edin, 96, of Hudson died Saturday, April 26, at the Christian Community Home, where she was a resident since January. She was born the daughter of Herman and Emma Teich on Dec. 21, 1911, in Pine City, Minn. Florence taught for several years at a country school in Pine City. On Oct. 9, 1937, she married Emmett Edin. The couple stayed in Pine City and were blessed with five children: Murray, Kaye, Tom, Clay and Joel. In 1955, the family moved to Hudson.
Sandra Lee (Brown) Lang, 66, of Roberts died Wednesday, April 23, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born, July 28, 1941, in Racine, the daughter of Jerome and Marylu (Cobb) Brown. She graduated from Richfield (Minn.) High School in 1959, moving to Hudson later that year, where she worked at the First National Bank. She married Rodney Nord of Hudson, and they had four children. They later divorced, and Sandy married John Gillstrom and became a bus driver for the Hudson School District for eight years. After Gillstrom's death, she married James C. Lang.
Suanna Johnson, 49, of North Hudson died on Tuesday, April 22, at The Gathering at Boutwells Landing in Stillwater, Minn. Suanna was born the daughter of Charles and Delores (Alcorn) Johnson on April 19, 1959, in Chippewa Falls. She was a graduate of St. Croix Lutheran High School in West St. Paul with the class of 1978 and attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls for two years. Suanna worked at Andersen Windows for 22 years. She was a member of Salt Company, a Hudson ecumenical youth group, and was a team leader with Teen Missions.
Funeral services for Theodore E. "Ted" Iverson, 61, of Kirbyville, Mo., were Tuesday, April 22, at 11 a.m. in the Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, Branson, Mo. Rev. Melvin Hatten officiated with burial following in the Ozarks Memorial Park Cemetery, Branson. Military honors were by the Korean War Veterans Association, Harry S. Truman Chapter #5. Services were under the direction of Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home, Branson. Mr. Iverson passed away Thursday morning, April 17, 2008. Ted was born May 2, 1946, in Chippewa Falls, Wis., to Theodore and Phyllis Bernice Henning Iverson.
