H. Maynard, Johnson, 87 of Baldwin WI died peacefully at his home on Friday, December 1, 2006, following an extended battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, December 4 at the First Reformed Church of Baldwin. Visitation will be held from 2-4:00 PM Sunday, December 3 at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin, and also one hour prior to services at the church on Monday morning. Interment in the Arendahl Cemetery in Peterson, MN. O'Connell Family Funeral Home of Baldwin is assisting the family with arrangements.
MADISON -- People venturing out into Wisconsin woods and fields over the next few weeks should note that while the traditional nine-day deer hunting season in Wisconsin closed Sunday, a statewide muzzleloader season runs from Nov. 27 through Dec. 6, deer hunting in the chronic wasting disease (CWD) management zones continues through Dec. 10, and a statewide antlerless only hunt will be held Dec. 7-10. The muzzleloader season is open statewide.
Tom Parent, 52, manager of the Whole Earth Grocery store in River Falls, died suddenly Tuesday, November 14, 2006 at the River Falls Area Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21 at St. Bridgets Catholic Church of River Falls. Visitation is at Cashman Mortuary from 4-8:00 p.m. Monday, Nov. 20. Cashman Mortuary is assisting the family with arrangements.
Richard H. Plattner Jr., 67, of Stillwater, MN died Sunday, November 12, 2006. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 18th, with visitation 1 hour prior to the service, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Stillwater. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
Holidays at Blue Ridge gets shoppers into the seasonal swing with a four-weekend sale inside the cozy cottage barn at Jill and Dennis Burke's town of Troy home. The show started 10 years ago with about a dozen local and regional artists. MADISON - Reports from state wildlife biologists and archery deer hunters indicate that white-tailed deer are nearing their rut, or mating season, and deer movement will increase over the next few weeks, resulting in a significant increase in car-deer collisions. State officials are urging motorists to protect themselves by being alert for deer darting into roadways creating collision dangers. With a deer herd estimated at 1.5 to 1.7 million animals combined with a growing number of rural miles driven in the state, deer and vehicle collisions remain at dangerously high levels.
