GLENWOOD CITY — A Tuesday night fire on Tuesday night destroyed an unheated pole building at Misty Meadows Wood Products, 751 Seventh St., on the southeast side of the village. Firefighters were alerted to the blaze just after 7 p.m. and flames were showing with the first unit arrived, according to a radio transmission with St. Croix County Dispatch. MENOMONIE -- A pedestrian was struck and killed late Sunday evening on I-94 on the east side of Menomonie but the man's identity hasn't been released. The State Patrol was notified of a possible semi- versus pedestrian crash near Mile 43 at 12:40 p.m. Officers responded and found the body of a man, still in an eastbound traffic lane. A dinner-hour police chase involving a stolen car ended Monday evening with the suspect being wrestled to the ground in the backyard of a Roberts home, seconds after he'd burst into a stranger's house and ran out a rear patio door.
