BALSAM LAKE -- The body of a 24-year-old Hopkins, Minn. man was recovered by fire department divers late Sunday morning, about an hour after he slipped beneath the waters of Balsam Lake while attempting to swim to a floating raft with a companion. Deangelo L. Williams was identified as the victim by Polk County Sheriff Peter Johnson on Monday morning. MADISON -- A Wisconsin Senate committee will hold a public hearing Wednesday on a bill that would not punish underage drinkers if they seek help for their intoxicated friends.
