Jefferson teams with Amtrak
Amtrak passengers have more destinations in Wisconsin, including Hudson, to begin or end their trips. The new arrangement was made in an agreement between the national passenger railroad and Jefferson Lines, an intercity motorcoach operator.
Amtrak Hiawatha Service passengers at Milwaukee can now make thruway service connections using scheduled Jefferson Lines intercity buses to and from the Wisconsin cities of Sheboygan, Manitowoc, Green Bay, Shawano, Wittenberg, Wausau, Abbotsford, Stanley, Chippewa Falls, Eau Claire, Menomonie and Hudson.
Amtrak Hiawatha Service trains operate between Milwaukee and Chicago, with seven daily round-trips Mondays through Saturdays and six round-trips on Sundays, sharing the new Milwaukee Intermodal Station with Jefferson Lines.
Passengers from these same dozen cities in northern Wisconsin who wish to connect with the westbound Amtrak Empire Builder will also be able to do so at the Amtrak Station in St. Paul. The Empire Builder operates daily to Portland, Oregon, and Seattle, via Glacier National Park.
The bus from the Milwaukee Amtrak depot to the St. Paul Amtrak depot arrives in Hudson at approximately 7 p.m., completing the trip in St. Paul at approximately 7:20 p.m. The St. Paul to Milwaukee bus arrives in Hudson at 8:40 a.m. and arrives in Milwaukee at 5 p.m.
The bus stop in Hudson is located near I-94 and Carmichael at the Park and Ride. Tickets can be purchased from the bus driver, or call
