Gerrard Corporation has officially broken ground on a new mixed-use development called "The Maxwell," located at 2000 Maxwell Drive.

Project highlights include 36 senior housing units and more than 3,000 square feet of commercial space. The Maxwell is phase one of a multi-phase 17-acre housing community.

The building offers easy access to a walking and biking trail and is located off Carmichael Drive within walking distance of several shops and services.

One- and two-bedroom apartments will be available when the facility opens in October. Each unit will have its own stove, refrigerator, microwave, washer, dryer, and dishwasher. Rent includes in-floor heat, water, sewer, and trash. It also includes parking for each apartment unit, either underground or in a detached garage.

Tenants will have 24/7 access to a fitness room, library, two rooftop garden terraces, and a fully-furnished community room that includes its own stove, refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher.

The Maxwell will also offer limited support services to its 55+ community.

The 3,000-square foot ground-level commercial space is designed for professional offices or business. Parking is available, and commercial spaces will be built-to-suit.

Gerrard Corporation founder Peter Gerrard and Paul Gerrard are grateful to the many collaborators who offered their support to help move the project forward.

"Several financial participants helped bring this project to fruition," says Peter Gerrard. "Federal Home Loan Bank of Chicago, the Wisconsin Housing Economic Development Authority, and Cinnaire were all critical to keeping this project on-track. The City of Hudson has partnered with us in support of our work for over 25 years. We are proud to continue to add value to the fabric of the community."

The Gerrard Corporation is now accepting applications for all spaces in The Maxwell. Interested tenants — both residential and commercial — are encouraged to contact The Gerrard Corporation today to reserve their spot at The Maxwell by calling 715-629-9544 or visiting www.themaxwellwi.com.
