Hudson Chamber announces 2019 board

The Hudson Area Chamber of Commerce announced its 2019 Board of Directors at its annual meeting on Jan. 24.

Serving as Board Chair for the coming year is Kathy Ableidinger from Cardinal Health. She is joined by continuing board members Susie Halverson of Barker's Bar & Grill, Joel Larsen of MidWestOne Bank, Mark McNamee of McNamee Real Estate Team, Amy Bast of akb marketing, Becca Denn of Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites, Michael Fronmueller of University of Wisconsin - River Falls, John Knutson of Catalyst Sports Medicine and Katie Kranz of Eckberg Lammers

New to the Board in 2019 are Mark Hein of Family Fresh Market and Chris Kost of YMCA in Hudson.

At the annual meeting, Chamber President Mary Claire Potter Olson also thanked outgoing board members Margaret Christensen of ProAct and Brian Elwood of Xcel Energy.

Ableidinger shared the 2019 Chamber priorities intended to support local business growth. They are:

• Membership: Develop a Membership Advisory Committee to review member benefits, investment schedule and help with new member recruitment and retention.

• Chamber programs and services: Provide networking events for members to increase business contacts and meet financial goals.

• Tourism: Continue to market and promote Hudson to encourage tourists to make Hudson their vacation destination.

• Workforce development: Develop partnerships with organizations/agencies/educational systems to help employers attract and retain the skilled workers they need to compete.

The Chamber Board is defining measurable goals for each priority area and will provide quarterly progress updates to Chamber members.
