Nicholas Moore has always wanted to own his own business.

As a father of three, however, financial stability for his family was a must.

Now he's found a way to follow that dream with the opening of You've Got Maids of Hudson, a residential and small office cleaning service.

Moore's mother was a professional cleaner, so the business is close to him.

"I enjoy cleaning, believe it or not, and I think there's something to be said about the accomplished feeling afterward," he said.

Moore was born and raised in the area, living in New Richmond now, and knows Hudson and the surrounding communities have a good population and a potential for growth.

You've Got Maids of Hudson will serve other surrounding communities, including River Falls, New Richmond, Stillwater, Lake Elmo, Somerset, Hammond and more.

Moore wants people to know that he is a local who knows the area and wants to continue to be a part of it. The business buys everything it can locally, he said.

Moore said he is looking forward to building relationships in the communities they serve.

"Really be involved as possible in the community," he said.

He's also looking forward to building relationships with the clients as well.

"I'm looking forward to leaving the home with people going, 'Wow,'" he said.

You've Got Maids of Hudson follows the Purple Cow idea. The concept is based off a writer's thought that a purple cow would stand out in a field full of cows. You've Got Maids of Hudson wants to stand out in that same way.

"Be different than others," Moore said.

That starts with branded cars and uniforms, but it goes further than just that. Moore said the business wants to go the extra step for its clients. Moore said one example they strive toward is a cleaning team that took the time to write a young girl a letter from her teddy bear.

"It's such a feel good thing and that's really what they're after," he said.

The service starts with a deep clean of the house or office. That gets it to professional cleaning standards, Moore said. After that the team will come in regularly, either twice a week, weekly or every other week to clean the space.

The service will also offer move-in and move-out cleans.

You've Got Maids of Hudson uses eco-friendly products, and high-quality materials and tools.
