MAIDEN ROCK--When the 39th annual Stockholm Art Fair is held this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Stockholm Village Park on Lake Pepin, a couple musical groups from Maiden Rock will perform.

At noon, Patchouli is on the music schedule. These musical artists are billed as "nationally touring, award-winning folk meets flamenco."

At 3 p.m., the Ditch Lilies are slated. They are described as an "acoustic, multi-instrumental American Roots Duo."

Besides music, original art and fine crafts will be exhibited, come rain or shine. One hundred and seven artists are expected to fill the village park just off the Great River Road (Hwy. 35). Artists will come from five states to show and sell their paintings, jewelry, clay, glass, sculpture, fiber, leather, photography and more.

The fair also features foods made by area chefs. The food is unique and primarily local as well; there will be grilled portabella mushroom sandwiches, meatloaf on struan w/horseradish marmalade, wild rice bratwursts, Greek food choices, Thai chicken wraps, locally raised organic chicken and beef on pita bread, and locally roasted great coffee. This year, attendees will also find made-to-order wood-fired pizza!

The Lake Pepin Art and Design Center is offering some fun childrens' activities as well in the park.
