National Night Out is Aug. 7

The annual Hudson National Night Out event will be held from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7 at Lakefront Park.

The event is designed to promote police-community relationships and neighborhood camaraderie to help make communities safer. At the event citizens can learn about the resources available in the Hudson community.

Live music, demonstrations, activities and dinner will be available at the event.

A hot wing eating contest between Hudson police, fire and St. Croix EMS will start at 6 p.m.

St. Croix County Deputy John Shilts Jr. and his K-9 partner Garza will do a demonstration at 6:15 p.m. followed by a Hudson Fire Department demonstration at 6:30 p.m.

EMS Chief Brandon Lyksett, Fire Chief Scott St. Martin and Police Chief Geoff Willems will take turns in the dunk tank, competing to raise the most money.

All proceeds from the dunk tank and dinner will go to the purchase of multiple fire suppression devices called X-tinguish FST for the police and fire departments.
