CITY OF HUDSON: Ordinance No. 14-18 (Bow Hunting)

ORDINANCE NO. 14-18
WHEREAS, Wisconsin statutes have changed: 1) to eliminate knives from the definition of dangerous weapons; and 2) to limit the authority of local government to regulate hunting within the city limits;
NOW THEREFORE, the Common Council hereby ordains that the Code of the City of Hudson Section Chapter 246-2 shall be repealed and Section 246-3 shall be amended as follows:
A. Hudson City Code Section 246-2 is hereby repealed in its entirety.
B. Hudson City Code Section 246-3 is hereby amended to read as follows:
No person shall hunt with a bow and arrow or a crossbow within the Hudson city limits within a distance of One Hundred (100) yards from a building located on another person's land, unless the person who owns the land on which the building is located allows the hunter to hunt within the One Hundred yards of the building.
A person who hunts with a bow and arrow or crossbow consistent with this ordinance shall discharge the arrow or bolt from the respective weapon toward the ground.
C. This ordinance shall take effect upon approval by the Common Council and publication as provided by Wisconsin law.
