River Dunk exceeds fundraising goal
A sunny day brought temperatures of 18 degrees for brave participants of the River Dunk at Lakefront Beach in Hudson.
Warming houses were ready for teams after they took their turns jumping into the cold waters of the St. Croix River for the second annual Hudson Rotary fundraiser.
This year the event exceeded it's $40,000 goal, more than $15,000 more than last year's $25,000 total.
Close to 900 donations were made, with 17 teams taking the dive.
"This event would not be possible without our local partners, sponsors, volunteers, teams and donors," said Hudson Rotary Club President Zach McCabe. "It's an amazing day for Hudson and Hudson Rotary Club is honored to host it for our community."
The event was presented by Hudson Ford, with restaurant host Pier 500. St. Croix Dive Team and St. Croix EMS served as local safety partners.
