Vehicle rolls over in ditch between Ellsworth and Red Wing

A single-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 63 between Ellsworth and Red Wing at 8:10 a.m. Thursday, July 20.

Alexander Bigalke, 57, of Hudson was operating the vehicle traveling southbound just past Lindgren Early Learning Center, near a residence at N3447 U.S. Highway 63, Hager City.

The suburban appeared to have driven off the highway into a ditch where there was a sizable amount of standing water, continued over the driveway of the Hager City residence, hit the side of the hill and flipped onto its driver’s side facing north.

According to a Pierce County Sheriff’s Department news release, Bigalke sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene and released by Ellsworth Ambulance.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Department, Ellsworth EMS, and Ellsworth Fire Department were on scene for the crash. A tow service was able to turn the car onto it’s wheels again.

The accident is still under investigation by the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
