Police searching for carjacking suspect

A chase to catch a vehicle stolen in an armed carjacking was called off due to bad weather Friday morning, and the search continues for the suspect.

Hudson Police responded to a report of an armed robbery carjacking at 10:56 a.m. on Friday, March 1 in the Mendard's parking lot off Gateway Boulevard , according to a press release from the department.

The suspect demanding the vehicle showed a handgun, and the driver turned the vehicle over to the suspect.

Officers located the vehicle and after the suspect refused to stop, a chase ensued. The chase went into Minnesota, and local law enforcement was notified. 

The chase ended due to poor weather conditions, the release said. The vehicle was last seen in the area of Inwood Avenue North and 10th Street North in Oakdale.

Minnesota law enforcement has taken over the continued search for the vehicle, according to the release.

The vehicle is a black 2013 Toyota Highlander with Wisconsin license plate 179-VRZ. The suspect is described as 20-30 years old, tall, with dark hair and a light mustache.
