Tonya Schmitt

Tonya Schmitt and son, Gus Schmitt-Mischke, work at the Grow To Share plots.

Grow to Share President, Tonya Schmitt, is an 8 year resident of River Falls. Since then, her engagement with the community has involved many facets.

shopping at WE Market Co-op

going to a movie at the Falls Theatre

grabbing a snack at Mei Mei's Cookies & Creamery

shopping for books at Fox Den Books

How did you get involved?

I care deeply about health in all forms. Grow to Share is all about health in food and community, so I was aware of GTS even before moving to River Falls. After moving to River Falls, we rented a plot and started attending community events.

What is your favorite part about your work?

Being deeply connected to the wonderful volunteers and workers in the garden, to the Earth, to our community! I especially love the great conversations that happen while volunteering in the garden. It's great to meet new people and connect with "old" friends!

Outside of this, what else might you be doing?

I am busy with my business, Mindful SOULutions. I do yoga therapy and health and wellness coaching. I get folks outdoors as much as possible as a crucial part of health. I am also active in walking, hiking and bicycling around town. Additionally, I have two active teens, so I attend their events.
