The Village of Roberts is looking to claim 30 acres from the Town of Warren to complete a proposed one million-square-foot project.

The preliminary certified survey map of a 1.2 million square foot fulfillment center, called the Mallard Project, was approved by the Roberts Village Board on June 14.

On June 15 at the special Plan Commission meeting of the Town of Warren, the proposal was discussed. A decision was not reached and further discussions are to be had.

Annexation, rezoning and land-use changes are often cause for confusion. What is in front of the Warren Town Board is a matter of a land-use change on the map, said Chairman Geno Hanson.

The Plan Commission is taking care to gather all the necessary information prior to taking a vote. “We just want to make the best decision,” said Hanson.

With growing concern for the flooding of Twin Lakes, it was estimated that the foot fulfillment center would increase wastewater flow by about 20% to 120,000 gallons per day.
