Strange noises

Officers responded to a resident who heard strange noises in his residence on Second Street at 1:40 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7. The man was concerned someone may have broken in. Officers cleared the residence and did not find anyone.

Employee locked in

An employee locked in brought officers to Family Fresh on Coulee Road at 10:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 7. The employee was locked inside the building after the last person left before he could. The manager was called to let him out and reset the alarm.

High speed chase

A robbery from a B. Dalton Liquor store in New Richmond led to a high-speed chase by a Hudson officer at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10. St. Croix County informed the Hudson Police Department to be on the lookout for a red 2004 Chevrolet Impala that had been involved in a theft of two 175 ml bottles of Gray Goose Vodka. Stationed at the median near milepost 2, a Hudson officer spotted the vehicle and gave chase, following the vehicle on I-94, exiting at Carmichael Road and back on to west I-94 before crossing the bridge into Minnesota. The vehicle continuously weaved through traffic and hit speeds up to 108 mph. Once across the state line, the officer was informed the theft was a misdemeanor and advised to discontinue pursuit. The vehicle was last seen westbound on I-94 in Minnesota passing the truck weigh station. Minnesota State Patrol and Washington County Sheriff were notified.
