Girls Golf: Hudson places 4th again

The Raider girls' golf team played its second tournament in two days Wednesday, Aug. 15, and for the second straight day turned in a fourth place finish.

Paige Hillman fired a team-low score of 85 to finish fourth overall while Makayla Shilts carded a round of 112. Ali Wefel finished at 116 and Lauren Gertschen had 122 while Courtney Dummer finished with 126.

Host New Richmond won the team title with a total score of 359 and River Falls was second with 406 while Eau Claire Memorial took third with 415 and Hudson was fourth with 435. Eau Claire North (444), Chippewa Falls (454) and Superior (477) rounded out the seven-team field.

Bob Burrows has been sports editor at the River Falls Journal since 1996 and at the Hudson Star-Observer since 2009. Prior to joining the Journal, Burrows served as sports editor with Ledger Publications in Balsam Lake, Wis. A native of Bayonne, N.J. and a U.S. Navy veteran, Burrows attended Marquette University before completing his studies at UW-River Falls in 1992.
