Robert C. Peterson, 85
Robert C. Peterson, age 85, of Hudson, Wis., passed away on Jan. 11, at his residence in Hudson, surrounded by family.
Robert was born on June 29, 1930, in Armstrong, Iowa, to Carl and Opal (McFarland) Peterson. He attended grade school in Doliver, Iowa, and was a graduate of Ceylon High School in Ceylon, Minn. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Upon being honorably discharged, he returned home to help on the family farm. It was then that he achieved a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry from the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities.
On Sept. 3, 1960, he was united in marriage to Marlene M. Parker in Fairmont, Minn.
Bob worked for over 29 years at 3M as a Chemist. Aside from his career, he was an avid traveler, and from 1994 to 2011 he enjoyed traveling to Myrtle Beach. He also enjoyed a good game of golf, and bowling with friends and family.
He is survived by his wife, Marlene; daughters, Kristine Peterson of Seattle, Wash., and Janell (David) Klatt of North Hudson, Wis.; brother, Clifford (Anne) Peterson of Sacramento, Calif.; step grandchildren, Nicholas (Nicole) Klatt of Oakdale, Minn., and Cody (fianc, Sarah Vall) Klatt of North Hudson, Wis.; and great-granddaughter, Leah Klatt.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Donald Peterson; and sister-in-law, Lola Peterson.
A Gathering of Family and Friends for Robert will be held from 12-3 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 16, at the O'Connell Family Funeral Home, 520 S. 11th St., Hudson, with a brief prayer service to conclude the gathering at 3 p.m. at the funeral home. Military honors to be provided by the Hudson VFW and American Legion Posts.
