Senior defensive end Cole Godbout has been named the 2017 Big Rivers Conference Defensive Player of the Year and to the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association First Team, headlining a list of ten Raider football players honored by the BRC and five who received WFCA All-Region honors.

Godbout was named to the All-BRC First Team for the second straight year after leading the BRC with 13 sacks and 62 solo tackles this season. His 19 tackles for loss were second most in the conference and his 79 total tackles were fifth. He also had a blocked punt return and fumble recovery for touchdowns. He received honorable mention to the 2016 WFCA All-State Team as a junior.

Godbout was joined on the All-BRC First Team by junior linebacker Cody Cicha, junior defensive backs Jakes Assembo and Jacob Daulton, senior offensive lineman Kyle Schultz, junior quarterback Keyser Helterbrand, senior wide receiver Max Stubbendick and junior specialty player Ben Karls, while senior offensive lineman Devin Paschke was a repeat selection to the All-BRC Second Team.

Helterbrand is a repeat all-conference selection after earning All-BRC First Team honors as a kicker in 2016. He led the BRC in passing yards this season with 1,299 while Stubbendick and Karls were the top two receivers in the league with 592 and 488 yards, respectively.

Cicha finished with a team-high 81 total tackles this season, fourth best in the conference, and picked off two passes, including one for a touchdown. Daulton recorded 69 total tackles and four tackles for loss from his defensive back position while Assembo led the Raiders with three interceptions.

In addition to the All-BRC honors, Godbout, Assembo, Schultz, Helterbrand and Karls were all named to the 2017 WFCA All-Region Team.

Hudson finished 6-1 in the BRC this season (7-3 overall), with its only conference loss coming to league champion Menomonie. Menomonie's Justin Evans was named the 2017 BRC Offensive Player of the Year while Mustang coach Joe LaBuda earned Coach of the Year honors.
