Football: Raiders rout Huskies

Cole Danielson and Keyser Helterbrand scored two touchdowns each and Helterbrand threw another as the Raider football team remained undefeated with a 49-7 victory at Eau Claire North Friday, Sept. 7.

Danielson scored on first half runs of 1 and 5 yards, sandwiched around a 6-yard touchdown run by Hunter Luetkens. Helterbrand hit Ben Karls just before halftime to stake Hudson to a 28-7 lead.

Helterband added touchdown runs of 16 and 5 yards in the third quarter to extend Hudson's lead to 42-7 and institute a running clock. Owen Anderson added a 5-yard TD run later in the third to make the final 49-7.

Helterband completed 6-of-7 passes for 149 yards while carrying the ball seven times for 18 yards. Charlie pierce caught two passes for 73 yards while Karls had three catches for 67.

Danielson led seven Raiders with at least 15 rushing yards with 76 yards on eight carries. Hudson outgained Eau Claire North 420-169.

Cody Cicha led the defense with six tackles while Jonah Becken, Jakes Assembo, Theron Haines and Bennett Puckett had a tackle for loss each.

Hudson, 4-0 overall, 2-0 in the BRC, will visit Superior Friday, Sept. 14. The Spartans (3-1, 1-1) are coming off a 31-24 loss to Eau Claire Memorial.
