River Falls advanced to Level 2 of the WIAA playoffs while Hudson, New Richmond and St. Croix Central all lost their opening round games Friday night, Oct. 22.

The Wildcats got an 85-yard kickoff return from Jordan Karras after La Crosse Central had taken a 6-0 lead and went on to score 29 unanswered points in a 29-6 victory over the RiverHawks in their Division 2 game at David Smith Stadium in RIver Falls.

Tyler Haydon added touchdown runs of two and one yards and Cole Evavold added a two-yard touchdown run for the final score as the fourth-seeded Wildcats advanced to face No. 1 Waunakee at Waunakee next week in Level 2.

Hudson dropped its Division 1 playoff game to Appleton North, 28-0, and New Richmond lost to De Forest, 35-14, in a Division 2 game while St. Croix Central lost to Ellsworth 40-6 in Division 4.
