Three golfers academic all-state

Hudson senior golfer Charley Chase and sophomores Bennett Swavely and Ben Pendleton have been named 2019 Academic All-State honorees by the Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin (GCAW).

Students are considered for academic all-state consideration if they have a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.25, participated in at least 75% of their team's varsity matches, and are a sophomore, junior or senior. The GCAW considers Chase, Swavely and Pendleton student-athletes who have served as great examples to others, proving that athletic and academic success are not mutually exclusive.

The GCAW is honoring 401 students from 125 different high schools with an average GPA of 3.747.

The GCAW was formed by high school golf coaches in 1986 to help build and enhance Wisconsin's reputation for developing quality junior players by promoting golf in Wisconsin's schools and communities.
