Gymnasts hit season high

The Raider gymnastics team posted a season high score on its way to a fourth place finish at the ten-team Chippewa Falls Snowflake Invitational Saturday, Dec. 9.

River Falls won the team title with 138.875 and host Chippewa Falls was second with 132.425. Eau Claire North/Memorial was third with 131.75 while Hudson placed fourth with 131.55.

Caroline Erickson highlighted Hudson's day with a third place score of 34.5 in the all-around competition. Erickson took third on the uneven bars with 8.375 and fourth on the balance beam with 8.925 while adding scores of 8.8 in the floor exercise and 8.4 in the vault to her all-around total.

Amber Robey joined Erickson on the awards podium on the balance beam with a third place score of 9.025.

Emma O'Neill contributed a sixth place score of 8.2 on the uneven bars to Hudson's team total and Taylor Owens placed eighth in the vault with an 8.35 while Mai'a Malchow was tenth in the vault with 8.275.

The Raiders have the rest of the calendar year off before returning to action with a Big Rivers Conference double dual against Superior and River Falls Friday, Jan. 5, in Superior.
