Gymnasts split double dual

The Raider gymnasts posted a team score of 127.45 in a Big Rivers Conference double dual in Superior Friday, Jan. 5, which was good enough to beat the host Spartans' total of 109.075 but finish second to River Falls' 131.375.

Caroline Erickson led Hudson's effort with a second place score of 33.15 in the all-around competition. Erickson took second on the balance beam with 8.2, third in the floor exercise with 8.5, third in the vault with 8.425 and fourth on the uneven bars with 8.025. Teammate Emma O'Neill was third on bars with 8.175.

Emma Newman and Maia Malchow gave Hudson three of the top five scores on the balance beam with scores of 7.725 and 7.675, respectively, while Katie Auge contributed a fourth place score of 8.3 on floor and fifth place score of 8.35 in the vault.

Malchow finished fourth in the all-around competition with a total of 31.075.

The Raiders will next compete at the River Falls Invitational this Saturday beginning at 11 a.m. at River Falls High School.
