Boys Hockey: Raiders win Schwan's Cup opener

Cole Danielson accounted for all three of Hudson's goals, including two in the third period, to lead the Raider boys hockey team to a 3-1 victory over Breck in the first round of the Silver Division competition at the Schwan's Cup in Blaine, Minn. Friday, Dec. 29.

After Breck took a 1-0 lead 12 minutes into the game, Danielson and the Raiders went to work, getting the tying goal less than two minutes later with an assist from Nolan Wagner.

After a scoreless second period, Danielson got what proved to the the game-winner on a power play at the 3:05 mark with assists from Bennett Schrank and Carter Maack. He finished his hat trick with an unassisted goal with just over three minutes remaining to make the final 3-1.

Raider goalie AJ Cohen made 11 saves as Hudson outshot Breck, 21-12.

The Raiders advanced to face St. Cloud in the semifinals Monday, Jan. 31. St. Cloud defeated Tartan, 5-1, in Friday's first round.
