HS Bowling Club competes at state

The HBC Tornadoes varsity bowling team won the District 10 Conference Championship to earn a trip to the Wisconsin State Championship at Dale's Weston Lanes in Weston March 2-4, 2018, where the team finished 14th.

The traveling bowling club has been competing for 20 years in District 10, which includes the Hudson area, Eau Claire, Chippewa Falls, Ladysmith, Bloomer, and Colfax.

The team is a co-op team comprised of youth from Hudson, River Falls, and Baldwin Woodville.

The HBC Tornadoes Junior Varsity team also won the district conference championship.

Any youth bowlers, grades 7 -12, interested in joining the high school traveling bowling club can attend the registration days, Sept. 24 and Oct. 1, 2018. Practices are held Monday evenings with all meets taking place on Sundays from October through February.

Bob Burrows

Bob Burrows has been sports editor at the River Falls Journal since 1996 and at the Hudson Star-Observer since 2009. Prior to joining the Journal, Burrows served as sports editor with Ledger Publications in Balsam Lake, Wis. A native of Bayonne, N.J. and a U.S. Navy veteran, Burrows attended Marquette University before completing his studies at UW-River Falls in 1992.
