Hudson tops NR/Somerset in first match of season

The Hudson Raider trapshooting team had its first virtual match of the season last week against New Richmond/Somerset and had two perfect rounds turned in by Brady Kern and Adam Harrigan.

The Raider varsity topped New Richmond/Somerset by five birds, 119-114. In addition to Kern’s perfect 25 score, Garrett Wood and Brandon Armstrong each shot 24 and Andrew Fullerton and Dan Lawton each shot 23.

New Richmond/Somerset was led by Brent Reed with 24 while Conner Taylor and Bret Greshner shot 23 each and Cole McKenzie and Jacob Wicklem each had 22.

Hudson’s junior varsity came up five birds short to New Richmond/Somerset, 111-106. Adam Harrigan had a perfect round of 25 for the Raiders while Braydon Noak led a balanced New Richmond/Somerset squad with a 24.

Jake Burger led Hudson’s Intermediate/Advanced squad with a round of 24 while New Richmond fielded just two intermediate/advanced shooters, led by Dylan Sampair, as Hudson ran away with a 114-21 victory. In the Intermediate/Entry competition, Hudson earned a 92-69 victory behind a round of 22 by Johann Stolz. Davis Noeldner led New Richmond/Somerset with 16.

The Hudson rookie squad, which was uncontested, totalled 42 birds with Lucas Svoboda accounting for 20.

Hudson is set to compete against Osceola this week.
