Hudson’s girls’ soccer team finally took to the pitch  for its first match of the season Thursday, April 12, and the result was a 2-0 victory over Big Rivers Conference rival Eau Claire North on the artificial turf at Raider Stadium in Hudson.

Marly Johnston scored Hudson’s first goal of the season five minutes into the contest, assisted by Maddie Danielson, before Danielson found the back of the net 10 minutes later with an assist from Cam Masini.

The Raiders controlled play from the start and outshot Eau Claire North, 18-4, for the game but couldn’t find another goal. Raider goalkeepers Abby Carlson and Mykena Olson needed just one save apiece to share the shutout.

Hudson moved to 1-0 on the season while the Huskies dropped to 1-1.

Weather permitting the Raiders are scheduled to host Superior in a BRC match Tuesday, April 17, at 5 p.m.
