A Village of Spring Valley procedural change enacted in 2015 requiring receipts for purchases made with a village credit card resulted Monday, Sept. 11 in felony charges against a recently resigned Pierce County deputy. Robby Joel Jaeger, 35, who worked as a Spring Valley police officer until November 2012, was charged with felony theft as well as unauthorized use of a Village of Spring Valley credit card, according to a criminal complaint filed in Pierce County Circuit Court.
Positivity. That's the way Dianne Kiel, one of the organizers of Wisconsin's Spirit of America Rally in Hudson described the event. "It was just everyday people doing everyday things to make a difference," she said. The rally, which drew roughly 300 people to Hudson House Saturday, March 4, was part of a national effort meant to "revive America's patriotism all across America," according to a news release. A little ways back, not too terribly long after Rich and Mary Ellen Cox moved to Hudson as the new owners and operators of the Phipps Inn Bed and Breakfast, Rich won a ride on a hot air balloon. The two bought a ride for Mary Ellen as well, imagining a nice, romantic balloon ride just the two of them. The reality, however, had them share their romantic ride with 15 others, floating beneath a balloon roughly the size of the bed and breakfast, according to Rich Cox.
